Workman Ham Radio
HAM radio mobile antenna tuner (length) to optomize preformance?

Yasue FT 2900R I have a radio and antenna wire steel worker ~ 53 "long (136-174 MHz 3db gain, the V324 Workman says … The radio (installed in my car), but the reception of works in non-ideal at greater distances. I have a friend who has a meter and know how to tune, but is outside the country for a while. Can somone provide an approximate length of the antenna avail, to return to can use the radio .. i often use is 151. thx

The antenna seems to be too long for the frequency. A quarter wavelength at 151 MHz is about 18.6 inches. Half-wave is 37.2 inch. Do you have the proper coil for this antenna? That could make a big difference. Above all, a radio receives with almost anything. A length cable is a piece of wire and picks up the signals they see. There are conditions where a certain length can cause poor reception, but mostly booking length transmission is correct. You need to adjust the antenna for the frequency band to prevent the transfer of good energy and avoid potential damage to the transmitter. Check all connections. Poor reception is an indication that a connection can be bad. Its coaxial could also be a bad place in it. Are there any place where I could get bent or crushed?
